Guess which Game of Thrones star has joined the cast of Peaky Blinders

Game of Thrones actor Aidan Gillen is the latest star to join the incredible cast of Peaky Blinders. The 48-year-old, who is famed for playing Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish in the hit fantasy drama, will appear alongside the likes of Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy in series four, the BBC has confirmed. Filming for the Birmingham-based show has already begun in Liverpool with Cillian reprising his role as Thomas Shelby, head of the Peaky Blinders.

Taboo star Tom returns as Jewish gang leader Alfie Solomons alongside his real-life wife Charlotte Riley, who plays champion horse trainer and Thomas' former lover, May Carleton. Series regulars, Natasha O'Keefe, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson and Joe Cole will also reprise their roles. News of Aidan's casting comes days after it was announced Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody will join the show.

Creator Steven Knight said in a statement: "We have a dream team gathered for series four of Peaky Blinders, coming to us for the love of the series which is great. Adrien Brody, Aidan Gillen and Charlie Murphy give us a wealth of talent to work with, and with Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley returning we couldn't have hoped for more." Controller BBC Drama Piers Wenger added: "The stellar cast Peaky Blinders continues to attract is testament to Steven Knight's incredible storytelling and the world-class production values of this original series. To welcome these actors to this BBC Two series alongside the rest of the show's outstanding cast is incredibly exciting."

Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody will also be joining the drama

The BBC recently revealed the tagline for the fourth series, which reads: "When he receives a mysterious letter on Christmas Eve, Thomas Shelby realises that the Peaky Blinders are in danger of annihilation. As the enemy closes in, Shelby flees his country house and returns to the streets of Small Heath, Birmingham where a desperate fight for survival begins." No official air date for the next series of Peaky Blinders has been released.
