Calling all Parks and Recreation fans! Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson to reunite on new show

Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, who played Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson respectively on the hit comedy TV series Parks and Recreation, have revealed that they will be reuniting on television to host a reality show competition entitled The Handmade Project. Speaking about the crafting show, Amy said: "I'm thrilled to be celebrating artists who make things by hand, and I'm looking forward to finally conquering my fear of paper mache."

Amy and Nick will host the new reality show together

Nick, who is a keen woodworker himself, added: "People who make things are my favourite kind of folk. Practical, clever and terrific in a pinch. That makes me tickled pink to have a front row seat at this prodigious display of talent, and admiring and cheering on an amazing crop of American makers. Plus, Amy and I have a strong tradition of tomfoolery so let's see if we don't have some good fun." Fans of the show have revealed how much they are looking forward to Amy and Nick together again. One tweeted: "Today, Alec Baldwin confessed he used to be in love with Tina fey and Amy poehler got her own show with Nick Offerman. This has been a lot." Another referenced a joke from the show, adding: "I beg they bring Lil' Sebastian on this show."

The show will see contestants take part in a crafting competition, and are currently looking for "household hackers, a DIY decorators, quilters, knitters, furniture makers, scrapbookers, basket weavers, needle pointers, cake decorators, wood workers, metal workers or welders, accessory or jewellery makers, doll makers, textile makers, shibori experts, potters, hand-builders, paper crafters, leather or denim workers, costume makers." The website looking for contestants read: "Do you thrive on creating? Armed with a hot glue gun or a hammer, can you make just about anything? Whether you are a late-night garage tinkerer, an Etsy-preneur, or everyone's favourite crafting grandma, we want you to apply!"
