Britain's Got Talent star Jonathan Antoine has revealed that he barely speaks to his former singing partner Charlotte Jaconelli. Jonathan and Charlotte were named runners-up in the 2012 series of the show, coming in second place behind Ashley and Pudsey. But five years on, the 23-year-old has revealed he doesn't keep in touch with his former best friend. Appearing on Lorraine on Thursday, alongside fellow former BGT stars Jamie Raven and Francine Lewis, Jonathan reflected on his time on the talent show.

BGT premiere date revealed!

"It's been five years, it completely blows my mind that it's been so long," he said. "I was genuinely a child when I went on the show, and I've been able to forge a complete career out of it. Since then it has just not stopped. I have so many things that I've already done, and still want to do."

"We don't get to speak very often, but that's just the nature of the industry," Jonathan explained

But, he confessed, he rarely has time to talk to Charlotte anymore. "We don't get to speak very often, but that's just the nature of the industry," he explained. "When you're grafting you don't really get the time to speak to your friends. Thankfully my family come to all my events and they are my support team." He added: "My album is out and I've got many things in the pipeline. I'm recording some things – let's keep that on the down low – and I'm starting to write some things."

Jonathan and Charlotte released an album titled Together following their appearance on BGT, which reached No 5 in the charts. Their second album, Perhaps Love, was released a year later, in October 2013. But the pair decided to go their separate ways in 2014 after they were both offered solo recording deals. In a statement, they said: "We have had the most exciting journey together ever since meeting at West Hatch High School in 2006 and are so happy for each other.

"To come second on BGT and sell over quarter of a million albums was beyond our wildest dreams. To now be offered our own solo record deals by Sony Classical is the most exciting thing ever and we are thrilled to be going back into the recording studio so soon. For those that voted for us, bought our CDs and saw us in concert – thank you. We hope to see you soon at our own shows. Love Jonathan and Charlotte."
