Broadchurch finale: Who is the attacker? Our top five suspects

The season finale of Broadchurch is almost here and if you're anything like us, you are desperate to find out who is responsible for the attacks – particularly after the show cast such a wide net of suspects. From Trish's dishonest ex-husband Ian to the creepy cabbie Clive Lucas, here are our top suspects behind the attacks…

Ed Burnett

Lenny Henry's character has already been caught out in a lie after he claimed not to drink. As two of the women described the attacker of smelling of spirits and with Ed drinking whisky in last week's episode, he's come back into the frame.

Jim Atwood

Jim seems to have opportunity, as his wife was away during the first two attacks, and with the revelation that he also bought the same brand of condoms used during Trish's attack on the day of the attack and was rebuffed by the waitress this definitely gets some alarm bells ringing!

Leo Humphries

Since Leo's football team wore those same socks used in the attack, it seems that it would point the finger towards the young suspect. We also know that he was at the party, and he owed Ian after he helped him with his struggle with suicide as a teenager. Speaking of Ian…

Ian Winterman

The man installed spyware on his ex-wife's laptop! He is clearly not to be trusted. He was at the party, but blacked out and lied to the police. He is unable to account for his whereabouts during Trish's attack, was seen washing his clothes immediately after and refused a DNA sample. The only thing is – could Ian be TOO obvious?!

Clive Lucas

What is that drawer of trinkets? What is he trying to hide? There is clearly something not quite right about it as we know he has a set of keys belonging to either Trish or her daughter.

Of course, the suspect could well be someone we would never even think about, or more than one suspect. What do you think? Enter your comments below!
