Former EastEnders actress Samantha Womack left fans in shock after she revealed her new drastic look on social media this week. The blonde beauty, who left Albert Square on New Year’s Day in one of soap’s most dramatic exits, has opted for a new dark hairdo for her new role as Morticia Addams in a musical version of The Addams Family. Sharing an image of her gothic new look over on her Twitter account, which she captioned: "Mmm Morticia feeling Sassy," fans were quick to compliment her new appearance. One wrote: "You look lovely Sam," while another gushed: "Love your hair colour, brings out your eyes." And it looks like Samantha has remained on good terms with Larry Lamb, who played her on-screen dad, Archie Mitchell. Commenting on the photo of his former co-star, Larry joked: "Ohh naughty daughter!"

Last month, Samantha appeared on This Morning, where she broke her silence on her character’s fatal ending from the BBC soap. Chatting to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, she said: "After nine years, that person's really close to you - the character, I mean. And the family's really close to you. So having to say goodbye to everyone is really, really hard. The best way is just to launch into a new job."

The actress also revealed that she's managed to stay in very close contact with her on-screen sister Rita Simons, who played Roxy Mitchell. "I speak to Rita about six times a day," she added. "You can't give up something like that. We were together for such a long time, and she feels like my sister still, so I am grateful actually. I came away with the most amazing friend ever."
