EastEnders favourites Kat and Alfie Moon will be back on television screens very soon! BBC One have released the first trailer of their spin-off, Redwater, and confirmed that the series, starring Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie, will air on 18 May. The six-part drama will see the couple travel to Ireland in search of Kat's long-lost son. The thrilling promo sees Kat frantically searching for her child, while Alfie does his best to help her. "I know this is the right place, I have been waiting my whole life," Kat can be heard saying. "This is my son we're talking about here," she adds, to which Alfie replies: "No it's a man that you think is your son, Kat please don't mess this one up."
EastEnders spoilers: First look at Kat and Alfie spin-off Redwater
It was revealed last year that their visit to Redwater will cause trouble for some of the residents of the sleepy village. After learning that she unknowingly gave birth to twins when she was 14-years-old, Kat sets off with Alfie to track her son down - but their presence in the village is not welcomed by everybody, especially when they start asking questions some residents would prefer left unanswered.
EastEnders spin-off Redwater will air later this month
STORY: Danny Dyer's long-awaited return to EastEnders has been announced
Director Jesper Nielson said: "We have a really important and fantastic story to tell. About how one woman's search for a lost child opens Pandora's Box; revealing the terrible lies and secrets in the little village of Redwater. A story about how the strong bonds of love in a family can hold everything together, and yet at the same time - destroy everything. It has echoes of Shakespearean drama, told in a rich cinematic style, loaded with humour and suspense. I cannot wait to start shooting and see the characters coming to life." EastEnders spin-off Redwater will air on BBC One on 18 May.
