There was a mini EastEnders reunion last week for Kacey Ainsworth and Alex Ferns. The pair famously played Little Mo Slater and her husband Trevor Morgan on the BBC soap in the 90s, with Trevor's abuse of his wife one of the most harrowing storylines at the time. But the actors couldn't have looked happier to see each other when they reunited at Trafalgar Studios in London for the first time in 15 years. Kacey stepped out to show her support for Trevor on the press night of his new play, Out There On Fried Meat Ridge Road. Dressed in matching black leather jackets, the pair smiled for the cameras, with Alex affectionately putting his arm around his former co-star.
EastEnders stars Kacey Ainsworth and Alex Ferns reunited after 15 years
Fans of EastEnders were shocked by the catalogue of abuse that Little Mo suffered at the hands of her violent husband. Alex eventually left the show in 2002 when Trevor was killed off in a dramatic house fire. Kacey, meanwhile, left Albert Square much later, in 2006. Alex recently admitted that he had no idea how much his life would change after taking on his role in the soap. "It did make getting other work tricky – not foreign work, which I got a lot of afterwards – but British mainstream telly, that was tough," he told the Express. "Things have panned out since then, but when you take on a role like that, you don't realise the implications, the things it will give you and the things it will take away. As an actor, you don't want to be put in a box, and in a way you are. Financially it's great – there are up sides and down sides."
