Game of Thrones season seven has had audiences on their edge of their seats, particularly after episode four's shocking cliffhanger, which ended with one of the main characters, Jaime Lannister, drowning while weighed down with armour after attempting to kill Daenerys Targaryen. Although the photos of the upcoming episode, Eastwatch, do not reveal Jaime's fate, they do hint at discord in Dany's camp from Tyrion and Varys, give a glimpse into Cersei's state-of-mind after her first major defeat, and hint at the blossoming relationship between Jon Snow and Daenerys.

The photos also show a glimpse of Samwell Tarly and Gilly's storyline in Old Town, the pair were absent from Monday night's episode after saving Ser Jorah from Greyscale. However, there appears to be a lack of information about Winterfell this week following last week's emotional reunion which saw the remaining three Stark siblings – Sansa, Bran and Arya – back together again. Daenerys' biggest (and let's face it, favourite) dragon, Drogon, lay waste to the Lannister army in the last episode, and Tyrion watched the chaos from a distance, his expression indecipherable. In this still, the Hand of the Queen looked deeply unhappy as he walks through the ash-coated devastation following her counterattack against the Lannisters, but why is he looking so glum?

Sat on the bed she shared with Jaime earlier this season, Cersei looks like she is deep in thought after her army was destroyed on the outskirts of High Garden. It could be considered that she perhaps aware of her twin brother's fate on the battlefield, and is already considering a counterstrike against Daenerys and her dragons (especially as her giant bow and arrow didn't work!).

Samwell Tarly is back with his girlfriend/mother of his adopted child, Gilly! The pair have been poring over books together in the hopes of finding something that will help defeat the White Walkers, and maybe they will have a breakthrough in this episode? Either way, we're counting down the days until Samwell gets his Maester's chain and he can reunite with his best friend, Jon!

This shot appears to be the same as a moment in the trailer when Daenerys tells the surviving Lannister soldiers: "I'm not here to murder. Bend the knee and join me or refuse and die." With Tyrion by her side, it's clear that he has decided to serve his Queen rather than go and search for his brother, whose fate is uncertain at this point.

Daenerys certainly looks like she is warming to Jon in this photo! As we saw in The Spoils of War, the pair are definitely growing on each other after what was a frosting first meeting, and even though we all know they are actually nephew and aunt, they certainly don't!

Has Jon just reunited with Daenerys after she returned from battle? Either way, our favourite King in the North is most definitely walking with a purpose. Either that, or he had just received a raven from Winterfell and wants to get back there ASAP. Roll on Monday so we can find out!

Varys is back in the strategy room on Dragonstone, where presumably Dany's team are coming up with their next plan of action after successfully destroying a huge part of the Lannister army (and all of their food supplies). Varys looks like he is listening intently to someone while remaining his usual calm and collected self, giving nothing away.

Varys is having a drink with Tyrion, which shows that things must be getting serious. Varys appears to be giving advice to the Queen's hand, which would correspond with the next episode's trailer, where the Spider can be heard saying: "You need to find a way to make her listen."
