Ryan Thomas is currently residing in sunny Australia after landing a role on Neighbours. And while he is enjoying the warmer climate, the soap star is also missing his family. Ryan, who shares eight-year-old daughter Scarlett with ex-girlfriend, Coronation Street actress Tina O'Brien, shared a sweet photo of his daughter, nephew Teddy. Ryan and Tina were in a relationship from 2003 to 2009, and met on the Coronation Street set. In the ITV soap, their characters Sarah Platt and Jason Grimshaw were married for a number of years. They welcomed daughter Scarlett Thomas on 26 October. Tina then went on to welcome a second child, son Beau, with her current partner Adam Crofts.

Earlier in the month, Ryan's fans applauded him for his "refreshing" take on co-parenting, after he shared a photo of Tina's son Beau on his Instagram account to mark his birthday. "Happy birthday to Scarlett's little brother Beau, love you lots," he captioned the picture, which showed Scarlett, Beau, and Teddy at a birthday party. "Co-parenting at it's finest..so refreshing and sadly rare," one fan responded, while another added: "What a family. Seriously. Such a good example."

Ryan is set to make his debut on Neighbours next year playing the role of Rafael Humphreys, who has been described as a "loner with dark secrets". On how he got asked to join the iconic show, the 33-year-old explained: "I was on holiday with my daughter when I got a phone call from my agent asking if I'd like to play this part...I spoke to the producer and found out more - it was very different from anything I’d played before - it was quite a deep, dark story, that really interested me. It's a new challenge and I can't wait to start filming."
