Louis Walsh has spoken out following reports that he may be taken off the line-up of X Factor judging panel this year, claiming that his contract can't be cancelled as it is "watertight". Chatting to the Sun, he said: "My contract is watertight. I've checked it out with someone and have told Simon that. He has asked me to come and see him in LA." The entertainment manager also revealed that he had spoken about the situation to Sharon Osbourne, whose job is also thought to be in jeopardy. "I have spoken to Sharon," he said. "She's said they can only sack us if they pay us."

Louis spoke about his X Factor contract

He added: "I don't think they've finalised what they're going to do with the panel. We have three-year contracts. We both do." He also spoke about the decision to replace Nicole Scherzinger, saying that the singer "always brought something new" to the role. Nicole has yet to address the reports, but shared a selfie while on holiday in Italy over Easter weekend, writing: "Happy glorious Easter everyone! It's been raining non-stop here in Italy, but when the sun rose today it shined so bright to remind us!"

According to The Sun, stars including Craig David and Louis Tomlinson are among the possible replacements for the trio. A source told the newspaper: "There are no plans for Nicole to return to The X Factor this year. Other announcements about the judging line-up will be made in due course. It is possible either Sharon or Louis could still return because both have contracts." Fans of the One Direction band member had a mixed reaction to the news that he could be a judge on the show, with one writing: "I'll support Louis no matter what he chooses to do and he'd make a great judge... but now that he has his solo music and album upcoming I really want him to just do that well; concentrate on making it the best & promoting it more, not doing several things at once."
