Our Girl viewers were still getting over the death of Elvis when the show handed fans yet another blow, killing off the squad's commander, Bones. The character, who was a fan favourite, spotted a suspicious package while attending a gala and managed to get it away from the crowd, tragically sacrificing himself by being caught in the bomb blast. Fans took to Twitter to discuss the latest episode, with one writing: "HOW THE HELL HAS THAT JUST HAPPENED WHY DIDN'T HE JUST THROW IT OMG I'M SHOOK I'M ACTUALLY CRYING #OurGirl." Another added: "Bones was actually doing a good job at improving 2 Section, but then they kill him off? So pointless."

Bones was killed in the last episode

A third person tweeted the actor, Olly Rix, about the twist, writing: "@Olly_Rix gutted your character was killed off in #OurGirl tonight - Bones was shaping up to be an epic character!" Fans had to wait an extra day for the much-anticipated episode so that the show wouldn't clash with the England vs Colombia match on Tuesday, leaving people wondering about the fate of Captain James, who stunned viewers last week after declaring his feelings for Georgia while wounded.

Speaking about the surprising romance, actor Ben Aldridge told Radio Times: "We all feel very loyal to [Captain James and Molly] as a couple. But then some people said, 'Of course this was going to happen, I can't wait for [Captain James and Georgie] to get together'. Whether they do or not, it seems pretty divisive." The show revealed a further twist by revealing that Captain James returned to 2 Section as the new commanding officer, promising problems between himself and Georgia after he told her that his marriage to Molly was in jeopardy, and causing Georgia to request a transfer to another unit.
