Emmerdale viewers will be watching with anticipation next week when Ross Barton's actions risk the lives of two popular characters. In next week's episodes, the troubled mechanic offers to sell Frank a vintage sports car which he can't afford. However, Frank's ex-fiancée Megan is on hand to help in a desperate bid to get things back on track with him. But little do they know that the car is faulty, and when they go on their first drive, it ends up falling into a ditch. It is unknown whether either Frank or Megan will survive the crash, but one thing's for sure, Ross will have questions to answer, and risks losing everything.

Fans of the ITV soap know that Ross is set to leave the Dales soon, adding further speculation that this could lead to his departure - especially if there is a death involved. Actor Michael Parr recently revealed that his final scenes would be in September, but declined to say whether that meant his final time filming, or on screen. The popular actor spoke to Radio Times at the British Soap Awards, where he explained that he only ever wanted to stay in the soap for four years. "When I originally signed, I said that I would do four years max. And in my fourth year, I was ready to go. Iain MacLeod said that they’d like me to say. So I said, 'do a storyline that’s never been done and I’ll stay,' thinking he wouldn’t be able to come up with anything."

Nothing ever goes smoothly in the world of soap

Michael continued to add: "But his wonderful mind came up with what was going on in the papers and they wanted to try and tell this story. In September, I will have done that extra year. So it’s a natural time for me to move on." In April, Michael told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield during an appearance on This Morning that he would like to try his luck in the States when he leaves Emmerdale.

Will Megan and Frank survive?

He said: "I've feel like I've had a big American influence in my life. I feel like it's always been calling me." He added: "It would just be so cool to maybe do a year in New York, and maybe go for it in LA to see if I can get some work out there. I just want be an actor who jobs, who pops up in an episode of this and an episode of that. I have no desire to be a huge super star, I just want to act."
