This Country is nearly back on our screens for a third and final season. The popular show, which follows cousins Kurtan and Kerry in a mockumentary about youths living in the countryside, has been a huge hit for the BBC – and we can't wait to see how it will be wrapped up! Find out everything you need to know about the series here…

What is This Country about?

The mockumentary follows cousins Kurtan and Kerry as they go about their daily lives living in the countryside in the UK. Often bored, with very little direction, the pair do whatever it takes to entertain themselves – which often lands them in trouble. The season two finale saw Kurtan working at the bowls club while Kerry got to know her father's side of the family better, after the pair testified against him in court and had him sent to prison.

The six-part comedy will be back on our screens on BBC One on Monday 17 February at 7pm, and every Monday after – so make sure you keep an eye out! Of course, the show will also be available shortly after it has aired on television on BBC iPlayer – along with the first two seasons if you want to catch up!

Who is in the This Country season 3 cast?

Siblings Daisy May and Charlie Cooper play Kerry and Kurtan respectively, who also write the show. While Charlie has gone on to star in the ITV drama A Confession as Kevin Reape, Daisy May recently appeared in The Personal History of David Cooperfield, starring opposite Dev Patel and Tilda Swinton. She has also made a name for herself with her amazing red carpet looks, which have previously included a Swindon FC dress and a gown made from bin liners, complete with a bin lid as a hat.

Meanwhile, Kerry's dad is actually played by Daisy May and Charlie's real-life father, Paul Cooper. Paul Chahidi also stars as Reverend Francis Seaton, the extremely patient and kind vicar who always has time for Kurtan and Kerry, despite their antics.

Will the new series pay tribute to Michael Sleggs?

Michael Sleggs, who played Slugs in the BBC Three show, tragically passed away in July 2019 following heart complications. Daisy May and Charlie confirmed that the opening episode of season three will be a tribute to him. Daisy May told Vice: "You have to address it, otherwise it's just weird. And it was a really lovely way of us being able to do it… It's weird because I've cried in so many interviews talking about him, but it's been a bit like therapy really, being able to talk about him. It's been a really nice way of celebrating who he was and I think we've done the episode in a good way. I think it's not mawkish but it's funny and it's touching."

Charlie added: "I think his death played a big part in deciding to end the show after three series. Losing Michael was really difficult, so the filming wasn't the same and it felt like something was missing. It feels like the natural end."
