Alexander Armstrong looks unrecognisable in early career photo

Alexander Armstrong regularly appears on our TV screens in some of the nation's favourite shows. Whether it's fronting popular daytime gameshow Pointless, or lending his voice to multiple hit children's shows, the actor and presenter is certainly a familiar face.

And now, fans are lucky enough to be given the opportunity to watch his 2015 artic adventure all over again in Land of the Midnight Sun. Alexander is clearly an eclectic performer, first beginning his career in comedy sketch show alongside fellow actor Ben Miller to form the duo Armstrong and Miller. Alexander Armstrong early career

After joining the prestigious Footlights acting group at Cambridge University, Alexander decided to pursue comedy. He moved to London which is where he met future comedy partner Ben Miller. The two formed a double act and went on to star in four series of their own show, Armstrong and Miller, from 1997 until 2001. The two then decided to call it day to focus on their own individual careers, before reuniting again for two more series in 2007.

More recently, he's lent his voice to many acting roles in children's shows such as Peppa Pig (Mr Wolf and Captain Dog), Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom and Hey Duggee.

Alexander Armstrong presenting career

Alexander first began presenting in 2006 on the panel show Best of the Worst. Since then, he has been a regular on many popular programmes such as Have I Got News For You, Pointless, The Imitation Game and more. More recently, he's fronting the ITV three-part documentary Land of the Midnight Sun, which is currently being repeated, which shows him complete an epic 8,000 mile journey around the Arctic Circle.

Alexander Armstrong family

Alexander's wife is Hannah Bronwen Snow. The couple married in 2003 and live in Oxfordshire. Hannah is a stay-at-home mum to their four children, and is the sister to journalist and famed food blogger Esther Walker. The couple have four young sons together.
