There's nothing better than a good old trip down memory lane, and viewers have been loving tuning into Agatha Christie's Poirot on ITV3 for just that. The TV show, which ran from 1989 to 2013, follows detective Hercule Poirot as he looked into a series of murder mysteries, and boasted of some seriously hugely stars over the years. Emily Blunt 

Before she was Mary Poppins herself, Emily starred in an adaptation of one of Agatha Christie's best-known novels, Death on the Nile. In the episode, which aired in 2003, Emily played Linnet, one of the victims who originally asks for Poirot's help after claiming she was being stalked by her former friend.

Michael Fassbender 

The X-Men star appeared in season ten of the popular show, After the Funeral, in 2006. In the episode, Michael plays George Abernethie. In the episode, George is the son of the victim, Richard, who wants to leave the entire estate to him, however, after Richard died, George switches the wills. The end sees his fortune restored to him, hurrah!

Jessica Chastain 

Oh yes! The Zero Dark Thirty star did make an appearance in Poirot back in 2010 for perhaps Agatha's most famous novel, Murder of the Orient Express. In the episode, Jessica plays Mary Debenham, a former governess, which was incidentally later played by Daisy Ridley in the 2017 film.

Lesley Manville

Recently appointed the new Princess Margaret in The Crown, Lesley has a seriously impressive filmography, which of course includes Poirot! In the 2005 episode Cards on the Table, Lesley plays Mrs Lorrimer, who falsely claims to have murdered her husband before taking her own life. 

elizabeth mcgovern

Elizabeth McGovern 

Before she was the lady of Downton, Elizabeth starred as Dame Celia Westholme back on the show in 2008, for Appointment with Death. She co-starred with Tim Curry and John Hannah in the episode, who investigates the death of Raymond Boynton's stepmother, Mrs Boynton, while holidaying in Jerusalem.

Damian Lewis 

Damian starred in the series back in 1995 for an adaptation of Hickory Dickory Dock. In the episode, he played Leonard Bateson, a medical student living at Hickory Road. He previously joked about the episode before in an interview with GQ. Talking about his taxes, the segment reads: "'I’m behind with my taxes,' he groans. He spent the morning going through his receipts and says the only love the taxman ever gives him are residuals cheques for 79p for the selling of Poirot to Paraguay.'"

Alice Eve 

The Stark Trek: Into Darkness actress appeared in the show back in 2005 for The Mystery of the Blue Train. Starring opposite James D'Arcy and Georgina Rylance, Alice played Lenox Tamplin, Lady Tamplin's daughter. Since starring on the show, the actress has gone on to star in Black Mirror, Man in Black 3 and Iron Fist.
