In the world of entertainment and showbiz, many celebrities go on to have children who are keen to follow in their footsteps, so it's perhaps unsurprising that many well-known A-Listers have members of their family who are just as famous as they are.

From the likes of Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow to Zoe Kravitz and Gigi Hadid, here's our round up of celebrities and their famous parents at their age...

Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight

Hollywood A-Lister Angelina Jolie is a proud mum-of-six, but it seems she also has a close bond with her parents. Her father, Jon Voight, is an actor and recipient of an Oscar, four Golden Globes and a BAFTA.

His credits include Coming Home, for which was award the Academy Award for Best Actor, Runaway Train and Enemy of the State.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Wanda Ventham

Benedict Cumberbatch rose to fame playing Detective Sherlock Holmes in the popular TV drama, but has since gone on to land huge roles in Hollywood, too. But it seems his early career was partly inspired by his parents' career, who both appeared in a number of TV shows themselves.

Benedict's mother, Wanda Ventham, is perhaps best-known for her role as Pamela Parry in beloved sitcom Only Fools and Horses. Meanwhile, his father Timothy Carlton, appeared in TV shows such as Keeping Up Appearances and A Family at War.

Dakota Johnson and Melanie Griffith

50 Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson's famous parents are Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, no less. Melanie, who was in fact the daughter of another very famous actress – Tippi Hedren – was famous for her role in Working Girl and, in later years, productions on Broadway.

Dakota's father, Don Johnson, is best known for his role in TV show Miami Vice and, more recently, the film Knives Out.

Rachael Stirling and Dame Diana Rigg

After Dame Diana Rigg's death last month, her daughter Rachel Stirling put out a statement announcing the sad news. Rachael has been nominated twice for a prestigious Laurence Olivier Award and has appeared in shows like Tipping the Velvet, Lewis and Doctor Who. Her mother, Diana, was hailed for her work in James Bond, Game of Thrones and The Avengers.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Blythe Danner

Actress, business owner and author Gwyneth Paltrow grew up with both sets of parents carving out careers in the film industry. Her father, Bruce Paltrow, who sadly died in 2002, was a TV and film director, while her mother, Blythe Danner, was an actress.

Blythe had roles in TV shows such as Huff, Will & Grace and more. She also appeared on Broadway and, in later years, the Meet the Parents film franchise.

Jennifer Aniston and Nancy Dow

Jennifer Aniston may be known and loved for playing Rachel Green in Friends, but the actress is also famed for her movie work in titles like Cake, Dumplin' and Apple TV's The Morning Show.

Her mother, Nancy Dow, appeared in The Wild Wild West, while her father, John Aniston, has been appearing on American daytime soap Days of Our Lives, since 1983.

Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn

Kate Hudson is often thought-of as the darling of romantic comedies from her work in titles such as Fools Gold, Almost Famous, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Bride Wars.

Jaden Smith and Will Smith

A-Lister actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith have two children together, Willow and Jaden, and both have gone on to make names for themselves in both music and film.

Jaden landed a lead role in The Karate Kid in 2010 aged just 12. Willow turned her hand to music rather than acting, and at the age of ten had a hit single and had become to youngest artist to sign with Jay-Z's record label Roc Nation.

Gigi Hadid and Yolanda Hadid

Supermodel and proud new mum Gigi has an extremely close bond with her own mother, Yolanda. Yolanda, who also shares Bella and Anwar Hadid with her ex-husband Mohamed Hadid, was famous for her career as a model for Eileen Ford before becoming a TV personality on popular show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. We can definitely see the supermodle likeness in this photo!

Zoë Kravitz and Lenny Kravitz

Zoë Kravitz has huge success in the acting world thanks to her roles in X Men, Big Little Lies and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Zoe grew up with both her mum and dad in the spotlight.

Her mother, Lisa Bonet was an actress who starred in The Cosby Show and her father, Lenny Kravitz, is a Grammy Award-winning musician who has sold over 40 million albums worldwide.

Tracee Ellis Ross and Diana Ross

Motown legend and music icon Diana Ross has been an A-Lister for many decades now thanks to her hugely successful career in the Supremes and as a solo artist.

Her five children have all gone on to carve their own career, but her daughter Tracee is perhaps the most famous. Tracee is an actress, singer and TV host best known for her TV series Black-ish.
