Eamonn Holmes’s fans react to hilarious new photo with Ruth Langsford

The pair are on This Morning hosting duties

Eamonn Holmes put a smile on fans' faces ahead of his appearance on This Morning on Thursday. The popular TV presenter took to Instagram with a mocked-up photo showing him and wife Ruth Langsford stood in front of Air Force One.

He joked in the caption: "Two massive media events today. The final US Presidential debate… and The First Lady and I hosting @thismorning from 10am."

Ruth was among the first to comment, posting two laughing face emojis, while her Loose Women co-star Saira Khan wrote: "Rocking it Holmes!"

One fan told the couple: "Love watching you two on This Morning - thought that was Princess Diana for a moment there with you in the picture." And a second remarked: "Ruth has such a natural elegance I think she would make an excellent first lady." A third joked: "Eamonn for President."

Eamonn and Ruth have stepped in to cover Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning during the half-term holiday.

Just recently, the Belfast-born broadcaster celebrated his 40th year in television. To mark the occasion, Eamonn shared a throwback photo of himself taken at the start of his career, writing: "My journey in TV all began in Oct 1980. 40 years ago this very month with my beloved Ulster Television. It seems like yesterday. So Happy Anniversary to me [cake emoji].

"Plenty more chapters to write I hope. Thank you for being there and I hope you'll be with me in the future too."

The star recently shared a throwback picture from the start of his career

Upon seeing the post, proud wife Ruth remarked: "Happy Anniversary gorgeous! [lips emoji]."

Eamonn kicked off his career at the age of 21 when he joined Ulster Television, the Northern Ireland franchise of ITV back in 1979, and went on to present the news for their flagship show Good Evening Ulster.

He co-hosted GMTV for 12 years between 1993 and 2005, before fronting Sky News Sunrise for 11 years. Since 2006, he has presented This Morning with Ruth on Fridays and during the school holidays.
