Another added: "If any of you are hungry for a good TV drama you should watch #Traces tomorrow night on BBC1. Saw it on Sky last year. It was brilliant and this girl is remarkable."

However, the reviews weren't all good, as one person tweeted: "Watching #traces on BBC. Script is so bad I can't stop laughing. It's just needlessly dramatic at every mundane moment! Snooze. Haven't see Martin Compston yet, maybe he'll kick it up a gear or two!"

Line of Duty actor Martin Compston also stars in the drama, which originally aired on Sky in 2020, and was full of praise for his co-star.

Chatting to Radio Times, he said: "Molly’s a wee firecracker – the girl’s got all the talent in the world. She’s already got a BAFTA – what is she, 22 now?! I was just blown away by her.

"She’s very wise beyond her years, very professional, very considered in her work, so she was a joy to work with. We became very good pals pretty quickly."

The story follows Emma, a lab technician, who is shocked to discover that her mother, who was murdered when she was seven, is being used in an online course designed to teach the principles of forensic science using a 'fictional' murder case. Emma is determined to find out what really happened to her mum.

The synopsis reads: "When Izzy tells her that Marie [her mum] was dismembered, Emma is horrified. Why has no-one ever told her that before? And why does Drew have a photo of himself in bed with Marie when she was married to Emma’s stepdad Jimmy?"
