"But I am a big fan of achieving unintentional goals, do something because you want to, like my run around hove lagoon and home again today, not to achieve a time but just to see if I could. It turns out that this is 15k so I decided to tack on a little more to make it a clean ten miles. A first for me and a huge milestone for someone a mere four months ago that described themselves as a non-runner.

Ben has taken up running

He concluded: "I feel like a half marathon is in sight now. Coupled with the freezing yet exhilarating temperatures this morning I feel mentally stronger and able to cope with whatever shit the world is throwing at us at the mo. For years I've been telling myself I can’t run, but I can! Don’t believe the negative thoughts in your head, you are stronger than you realise."

Fans were quick to reply, with one writing: "Well done buddy. What an amazing achievement, you have every right to be proud of yourself. I keep thinking about running, I have downloaded Couch to 5k on my phone and that’s about as far as I have got."

Another added: "Wow! Well done! I'm also one of those people that say 'I can't run'! Still hope for me then!"
