NCIS: Meet the cast of season 18 of the hit US drama series

NCIS has finally returned from a six-week-long break much to the delight of fans of the police procedural drama.

Having been on screens for nearly two decades, the show has seen plenty of cast members come and go over the years. So, for an up-to-date list of the stars appearing in season 18 of the show - and who they play - look no further!

Mark Harmon as Leroy Jethro Gibbs

Mark Harmon takes on the lead role of  Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a former US Marines sniper turned special agent who commands a team for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. The 69-year-old actor has been in the role ever since the long-running series began, but before that, he appeared in the films Freaky Friday and Chasing Liberty.

David McCallum as Dr Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard

Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard was the chief medical examiner at NCIS and an old friend of Gibbs. He retired from his position and became an NCIS historian in season 16 of the show. The role is played by Scottish actor David McCallum, who rose to fame in the 1960s for playing secret agent Illya Kuryakin in the television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E.. Like Mark Harmon, he has been part of the cast since season one.

Sean Murray as Timothy McGee

Sean Murray plays special agent Timothy McGee in the CBS series. The actor has appeared in ER, JAG and The Random Years but you might recognise him as Thackery, the young boy who is turned into a cat in Disney's Halloween classic Hocus Pocus.

Maria Bello as Dr Jacqueline Sloane

Dr Jacqueline "Jack" Sloane is a forensic psychologist with the NCIS and a potential love interest of Gibbs' on the show. She is portrayed by the actress Maria Belloas whose film credits include Coyote Ugly, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon EmperorPrisoners, and Lights Out.

Wilmer Valderrama as Nicholas Torres

Nicholas Torres is an undercover agent with the NCIS who often ends up butting heads with Gibbs because of their very different approaches and attitudes. The actor behind the role, Wilmer Valderrama, is perhaps best known for the role of Fez in the sitcom That '70s Show and appeared in Greys Anatomy and The Ranch before joining the cast of NCIS in 2016.

Emily Wickersham as Ellie Bishop

Ellie Bishop works as an analyst for the NCIS team and is played by actress Emily Wickersham. Before joining the cast, Emily appeared on The Sopranos, The Bridge, Gossip Girl and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Brian Dietzen as Dr Jimmy Palmer

Brian Dietzen plays Dr Jimmy Palmer on the show. Initially the assistant medical examiner, he was promoted to the role of chief medical examiner when Ducky retired in season 16.

Rocky Carroll as Leon Vance

Leon Vance is the director of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and is portrayed by Rocky Carroll who has previously appeared in Grey’s Anatomy, Boston Legal, ER and Roc.

Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines

Diona Reasonover, who has previously appeared in 2 Broke Girls and Grace and Frankie, stars as Kasie Hines, the current forensic scientist for the NCIS team. She originally appeared on the show as a graduate student who Dukcy employs as an assistant to help out but quickly rose up the ranks and became a series regular in season 16.
