Taking to social media after the second episode, many voiced their verdict that someone in the Marshbrook family is behind the murder of Stephen – who was shot by a hitman in the first moments of episode one.

One person was particularly suspicious of Stephen's brother-in-law and colleague at the family law firm, Mark: "I think Mark hired a hitman. He must have known there was a family get together and known that Stephen was going to be at the house during that particular time #TheBay".

Another thought someone close to Stephen is responsible: "The alarm was cut? I'm thinking a family member knows more than they are letting on or possibly in on it #TheBay," meanwhile a third wrote: "My intuition tells me the wife knows more than she's letting on #TheBay.

The episode saw former DS, Lisa, newly-appointed DS Med Karim and boss DI Tony Manning uncover more crucial details in the investigation. Elsewhere in the series so far, Lisa had a shock when her ex-partner and husband of her two children, Andy Warren (played by Joe Absolom), turned up out of the blue.

Appearing back in Lisa's life at a time when she and the kids are vulnerable, it's not clear whether Andy has returned to make amends or take advantage. Could there be more to this story? We'll have to wait and see...
