Taking to social media, plenty voiced their confusion over George, who is the estranged son of Alice's (Keeley Hawes) late husband Harry, and his involvement in his father's death. One viewer tweeted: "Why was George in the house? Hadn't he knocked? I don't get it #FindingAlice."

A second shared the confusion, writing: "#FindingAlice why did George sell out his dad then want nothing to do with the family if his mum is telling the truth..." A third added: "George can't be the man in the white trainers and there must be something more as there are still three episodes #FindingAlice."

Meanwhile, a fourth said: "Half way through #FindingAlice, great cast, but I am puzzled that no one has questioned how George got into the house?"

Isabella Pappas spoke about what viewers can look forward to

Viewers will have to wait until the second half of the series to find out more regarding Harry's death, but star of the show Isabella Pappas recently opened up about a 'shock' viewers can look forward to.

Speaking to Heart Radio online recently, the actress, who plays Charlotte Dillon, daughter of Alice and Harry, said: "The ending definitely shocked me. I think that it's a very hard ending to work out."

She continued: "I think that's part of what I love about it, because it's so unexpected, and it doesn't play into any TV tropes. It's not your classic thriller. It's not a thriller, it's not a full-on comedy, it's not a full-on drama, it's all of those things meshed into one. I think that's what makes the last episode so amazing, it's the fact that it's not a stereotypical ending, it's not really an ending."
