For March 2023, Reese unveiled a real page-turner for the book club – one that she says has sparked many a water cooler conversation at her Hello Sunshine offices.

The star calls Nightingale by Kristin Hannah "one of the most powerful, most captivating novels about WWII in recent years".

The book is already hugely popular! It's #1 New York Times bestseller and has a 4.8 of 5 star rating on Amazon, where it's ranked the #1 read in World War II Historical Fiction.

Reese described her latest pick as an "important story illuminates a part of history that’s often overlooked: the women’s war. It’s a harrowing tale of two sisters, survival, love and female resilience throughout Nazi-occupied France."

For February 2023, Reese chose The House of Eve by Sadeqa Johnson. The Big Little Lies star of course rang in the new year with a new book pick! To kick off 2023, Reese chose The House in the Pines by Ana Reyes, calling it an "absolute, can’t-put-it-down thriller". It follows the main character Maya's quest to "prove once and for all that her best friend was murdered years ago by her then boyfriend, Frank.

"As Maya digs further into Frank’s past and present she finds a string of similar mysterious deaths. It’s truly a wild ride that had me flying through chapter after chapter—which I think is the perfect way to kick off your year of reading. I can’t wait to discuss the big twist of this novel once you read it!"

Previous Reese Witherspoon book club picks

Last summer, the Oscar-winning actress and director took to Instagram to announce Counterfeit by Kirstin Chen as her "perfect summer read".

Reese describes the book as a "non-stop page-turner between two women" - the story of two Asian American women who band together to grow a counterfeit handbag scheme into a global enterprise becomes a tale of twists and turns.

Fans have gushed that it's like a hybrid between 'Hustlers' and 'Big Little Lies.'

The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams

If you haven't read it yet, you can also get started on Reese's May 2022 book club choice – The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams.

Reese explained; "We’re reminded of the importance of women’s voices being seen and heard," said the Hollywood producer and actor, calling The Dictionary of Lost Words "a beautiful exploration of history and the power of language".

True Biz by Sara Novic

Reese announced her Book Club pick for April 2022, True Biz by Sara Novic in an animated and heartfelt video posted on her Instagram page: "Goodness, I can't even begin to put into words all the feelings this book provoked!"

True Biz is set in a residential school for the deaf and follows the journey of a rebellious transfer student, named Charlie who has never encountered another deaf person before.

For March 2022 Reese picked The Club by Ellery Lloyd and took to Instagram to share her rave review, posting: "A beautifully written, densely plotted thriller that takes place at a private club off the coast of England. Read about a luxurious, celeb-only island during a weekend of partying and mystery."

The Christie Affair by Nina de Gramont

Reese kicked off February 2022 with the book The Christie Affair by Nina de Gramont. In keeping with Valentine's Day that month, she took to Instagram wearing an adorable heart print jumper by Draper James for the announcement.

Reese explained that the novel 11 days in 1926 literary icon Agatha Christie went missing, revealing one "twist" - (don't worry, no spoilers!) – the book is told from the perspective of Christie's husband's mistress.
