Jules Hudson is a familiar face across the nation thanks to his long-standing TV career, including his role on the beloved daytime show, Escape to the Country. But how much do you know about him behind the scenes? Find out more about his lovely family here...
Jules lives in Herefordshire with his partner, Tania Fitzgerald, and their young son, Jack.
The couple moved into their home in 2012, purchasing the farmhouse for £610,000 before spending an estimated £100,000 on renovation. Speaking about his love for the countryside in an interview with The Times in 2020, Jules said: "I found London very claustrophobic. There’s an energy about it that I absolutely love, but I need green fields and space."
"We knew what we were looking for — something with space, something with outbuildings," he said of his and Tania's search for their perfect home. "And having its own plot was really important to me. Having that little cushion around you is the thing for me. After the B&B and boarding school, my own space is very important."
Jules likes to keep his private life out of the spotlight, so rarely shares photos of his wife and son. However, back in 2017, the 53-year-old shared a snap of his adorable son celebrating his second birthday. "THANK YOU All so much for wishing Jack happy birthday," he penned in the caption, adding: "He's having a great day!"
He also posted an adorable photo of Jack playing outside with the family's Labradors Teddy and Lolo in 2019. He captioned the post: "Out with my boys today. Jack in control...."
In a recent interview, Jules opened up about his work-life balance and how he shares his time between his TV jobs and family life. "Anybody with any busy life will tell you that the balance between your working life and family life can be tricky," he told The Express. "I've got a young son, we've got our own life here in Herefordshire that is very dear to us, so you know, trying to balance it all can be difficult but it's a partnership, it's a team effort through the family.
"We all understand it, we have mortgages to pay and bills to pay and all the rest of it, it is our working life. It's not easy but that's the trouble every family in the country faces let's be honest, you just have to work hard and play."
According to Jules' website, the presenter is also a "keen countryman and craftsman". It reads: "Jules spends his spare time renovating his period home and garden in Herefordshire and rescuing old furniture."
He previously opened up about his love of the countryside, saying: "I like the pace of life, the space and the shared fellowship. What’s revolutionised country living is next day delivery. It doesn’t matter if there are no shops nearby now as long as you have the internet."
