Dan Walker shares warning about Strictly Come Dancing to Matt Goss

The former Breakfast star gave his words of wisdom to the new contestant

Dan Walker has been sharing his words of advice to Strictly Come Dancing 2022 contestant Matt Goss as well as a warning about an "uncomfortable" moment ahead for the pop star.

Dan, who appeared on the BBC ballroom competition in 2021 alongside Nadiya Bychkova, was chatting to the Bros singer on his new show, 5 News, when he opened up about his time on the show.

"Sometimes before you actually do the show, you're in front of the cameras and they just ask you to dance. That was my most uncomfortable moment ever," Dan revealed.

Matt then joked: "You've made me very, very nervous!" Luckily, the former BBC Breakfast presenter also offered up some positive words of wisdom to the 80s popstar.

"Essentially, just trust your professional," Dan explained, adding: "You know when you see somebody who's brilliant at what they do, and you can say, okay, I'm safe in your arms, just tell me what to do and I’ll try and soak up as much as I can."

Matt was announced as the eighth contestant to be joining the 2022 series of Strictly Come Dancing. The musician was announced during an episode of This Morning when Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle shared the big reveal with viewers.

On joining the show, Matt, who is best known for being in pop group Bros, said: "I am excited, I'm nervous, you have the conversation and then you go about your day and think 'I've got to dance!'".

Viewers were equally thrilled with the announcement, one person tweeted: "Definitely watching now!" as another agreed, writing: "This as an amazing booking!"

Matt will join the likes of, James Bye, Hamza Yassin, Fleur East, Tony Adams, Molly Rainford, Ellie Taylor, Tyler West, Will Mellor, Kym Marsh, Kaye Adams, Jayde Adams, Richie Anderson and Ellie Simmonds OBE.
