The latest episode, titled Flashback, saw Simone and the team attempt to clear Garza's name after he was accused of espionage and arrested by the FBI.

The instalment also delved into the agent's past, revealing details of his time working in Panama. Viewers learned that Garza was romantically involved with his co-worker Camilla, who was tragically killed in an ambush.

After the team managed to prove his innocence, Garza headed to the cemetery to remember Camilla. While laying flowers on her grave, he suddenly clutched his chest and collapsed to the ground, seemingly having a heart attack.

Viewers took to Twitter to express their shock, with one person writing: "Wait what?!?!!!! Noooo!!! That’s how it ends! I’m so scared and sad! Please let Garza be ok!" while another added: "Wasn't expecting that ending. Garza's heart condition finally caught up with him. The only question now is, did he survive?"

A third viewer tweeted: "Not them making Garza have a heart attack at Camilla's grave. Incredibly rude to my feelings right now," while another commented: "Nooo Garza you can't die. I knew after all this stress you should've been checked out, to check on your heart smh."

Sadly, fans will have to wait until the new year to find out if Garza survived his heart attack. The good news is the show will return in January with one half of a crossover with original series, The Rookie.

Viewers can also look forward to seeing new episodes an hour before than their usual slot starting from January. The spin-off will still air on Tuesdays but at the slightly earlier time of 9 p.m. ET/PT.
