Angela Bassett, Austin Butler and Brendan Fraser were recognized for their work on Tuesday, as Riz Ahmed and M3gan star Allison Williams announced the 2023 Academy Award nominations.

All 23 categories were announced in a global live stream from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater, with Normal People's Paul Mescal picking up a nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in Aftersun.

There were 10 spots open for the coveted Best Picture category, and gonzo thriller Everything Everywhere All At Once (EEAAO), Steven Spielberg's The Fabelmans and The Banshees Of Inisherin with Colin Farrell all landed a nomination, as HELLO! expected in our 2023 awards predictions piece.

Elvis Presley biopic Elvis, TAR, Avatar: The Way of Water and Top Gun: Maverick all picked up nominations, as did black comedy Triangle of Sadness and German-language war film All Quiet on the Western Front.

Michelle Yeoh has been leading the race for Best Actress in a Leading Role for months with a recent win at the Golden Globes along with BAFTA and SAG nominations, so it's not surprising she picked up the coveted nomination. Angela Bassett was also honored with a nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

Angela won the 2023 Golden Globe - where she gave a highly charged and emotional speech - and many have long thought she had been overdue for her little gold man. See all the nominations below.
