The 65th Grammy Awards took place on Sunday evening as the world's most successful artists gathered in the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles for a night of historic wins and major moments.

Comedian Trevor Noah acted as host for the third time in a row. The TV star was on hand to offer his witty commentary at the star-studded event and he introduced some big names to the stage to perform and present awards throughout the night. Huge stars like Harry Styles and Lizzo blew the crowd away with their incredible performances.

Harry Styles picks up the big award of the night 

Harry Styles won the award for Album of the Year. His 2022 album Harry's House managed to beat off huge competition including Beyoncé's Renaissance, Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, ABBA's Voyage, Coldplay's Music of the Spheres and more. 

The former One Direction star was visibly moved as he picked up the award and told the audience: "This is very kind. Things like this don't normally happen to people like me."

Harry won Album of the Year

Beyoncé officially made Grammy Awards history

Beyoncé was overcome with emotion as she officially became the most-awarded artist in Grammy history. The superstar picked up the award for Best Dance/Electronic Album for her 2022 smash-hit Renaissance, meaning she has now won the most Grammy Awards — 32 total — in the history of the Recording Academy.

The Cuff It singer tried her best to hold back tears as she took to the stage to thank her late uncle Johnny, a heavy influence on the album Renaissance, as well as her "beautiful husband" Jay Z, and the queer community.

Stars take to the stage for heartbreaking In Memoriam tributes

Country music star Kacey Musgraves took to the stage for an emotional performance as the Grammy Awards showcased the In Memoriam segment. As Kacey sang, a number of late singers, producers, musicians, and band members who sadly passed away in recent times were shown on the big screen. Tributes were made to Olivia Newton-John, rapper Coolio, Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie, Earth Wind and Fire's drummer, Fred E. White and more.

After Kacey sang, Migos rapper Quavo took to the stage to pay tribute to his nephew, Takeoff, following his death in November 2022. Following Quavo's track, Mick Fleetwood, Bonnie Raitt, and Sheryl Crow took to the stage to perform a heartbreaking rendition of Songbird in tribute to Christine McVie.

Harry Styles dazzled in an eye-catching outfit after major win

Harry Styles took to the stage to perform his huge track, As It Was, shortly after he won the award for Best Pop Vocal Album for his 2022 release, Harry's House. Earlier in the evening, during the Premiere Ceremony, his album picked up the award Best Engineered Album in the Non-Classical category.

Kim Petras and Sam Smith's major award milestone

Kim Petras and Sam Smith also made history after becoming the first transgender woman and non-binary artist, respectively, to win a Grammy Award thanks to their win in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category for, Unholy. Kim and Sam both got up on stage after Smokey Robinson read out their names, with Kim stating that Sam had told the singer to accept the award on both of their behalf due to the milestone win.

Kim also paid tribute to the late transgender artist, Sophie, adding: "Sophie, my friend who passed away 2 years ago. Thank you so much for your inspiration. I adore you and your inspiration will always be in my music."

Trevor Noah revealed Beyoncé was stuck in traffic

Trevor Noah said Beyoncé got caught up in traffic on her way to the Grammy Awards. The comedian took to the stage to explain her absence after the superstar was announced as the winner of the Best R&B Song Award for her track Cuff It. Nile Rodgers and Terius Gesteelde-Diamant, also known as The Dream, who both worked on the Renaissance track, accepted the award on behalf of Queen Bey.

Adele's big surprise during Trevor Noah's opener

Trevor Noah had a big surprise for singer and Grammy winner Adele as he opened the awards show. As the comedian and former Daily Show host kicked off the big night, he revealed to the audience that Adele had always wanted to meet Dwayne Johnson – also known as The Rock – only for the former wrestler to appear and greet her. Adele, who was sitting with her boyfriend Rich Paul, looked elated as she got acquainted with the film star.

Taylor Swift won first Grammy of the night for All Too Well 

Taylor Swift's massive 2021 release All Too Well: The Short Film won the Grammy Award for Best Music Video during the Premiere Ceremony. The music video, which was almost 15 minutes in length and part of her Red (Taylor's Version) album re-release, starred Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien as the lead characters. Taylor's first win of the night was the twelfth win in her career.

Viola Davis completes EGOT status at the 2023 Grammy Awards 

Actress Viola Davis reached EGOT status after winning the award for Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording for her spoken word album, Finding Me. The star, known for her roles in How to Get Away with Murder and The Woman King, said as she accepted her award: "I wrote this book to honor the six-year-old Viola. To honor her life, her joy, her trauma, everything."
