The biggest names in music gathered at London's O2 Arena on Saturday night for the 2023 Brit Awards.

Comedian and TV presenter Mo Gilligan was back for his second time as the host of the show. As the evening's MC, Mo welcomed artists to the stage for some major performances and provided witty commentary throughout as the awards were handed throughout.

But it wasn't just Mo who fans got to see on stage. Before he swept the board with his multiple wins across the night, Harry Styles kicked off the show with his performance of As It Was. Fans also saw Lizzo, Stormzy and Lewis Capaldi take to the stage, as well as Best Group winners, Wet Leg, and singer Cat Burns.

Harry Styles sweeps the board with major wins

London's O2 Arena was transformed into Harry's House after Harry Styles swept the board at this year's Brit Awards. The superstar won four awards in the biggest categories of the night: Song of the Year, Best Pop Act, Album of the Year and Artist of the Year. Harry said he was "so proud" to be a Britist act out in the world before.

Fans confused as Mo Gilligan addresses technical difficulties

Viewers watching the Brit Awards at home were left somewhat confused when Mo Gilligan announced they were having some technical difficulties in the arena, as he told the crowd: "This is the real world!" Although the technical faults were not revealed, the TV host said they were going to show Adele's performance from last year's ceremony of her song, I Drink Wine, while they fixed the error in question.

Kim Petras and Sam Smith put on daring performance

Kim Petras and Sam Smith put on a daring performance of their hit track Unholy as the Brits neared its close on Saturday night. The artists, who picked up the Grammy for their duet last week, left viewers wowed with the brilliant routine and epic garage-themed set.

Harry Styles makes candid comment about privilege during acceptance speech

Harry Styles spoke about "his privilege" while accepting the award for Artist of the Year. The Watermelon Sugar singer made the comment to say he was "aware" of the privilege he has. Some fans on Twitter were quick to ask if this was a reference to the criticism he faced for his speech at last week's Grammy Awards where he said: "Things like this don't usually happen to people like me," which raised the eyebrows of some.

Harry's comment also comes after the Brit Awards came under criticism for only having male artists in the gender-neutral Artist of the Year category. Harry also thanked his mum for signing him up for The X Factor without him knowing, as well as his former One Direction bandmates Louis, Niall, Zayn and Liam.

Stormzy brought the house down with emotional performance

Stormzy took to the stage to sing a medley of hits from his brand new album This Is What I Mean at London's O2 Arena. The rapper was nominated in a number of categories but lost on a trophy on the night.

Mo Gilligan apologised to viewers after making on-air blunder

Host Mo Gilligan apologised to viewers and the audience at the Brit Awards after introducing Lewis Capaldi as Sam Capaldi before the Brit Award nominee took to the stage to perform his song, Forget You. After Lewis finished his performance, Mo said sorry to viewers, before adding: "It just goes to show how strong the drinks are!"

Beyoncé made surprise appearance at the Brit Awards 2023

Beyoncé surprised viewers when she appeared via video message at this year's Brit Awards to accept the award for International Artist of the Year. The superstar sadly wasn't there in person to collect her trophy, but Beyonce looked stunning in the pre-recorded message as she held the bronze statue while wearing a gorgeous monochrome ensemble. The Cuff It singer said she was so grateful to her fans in Britain and finished her speech with: "I'll see you on tour!"

She later won a second win for International Song of the Year for her track, Break My Soul.
