Escape to the Chateau fans were devastated when Dick and Angel Strawbridge announced that their popular Channel 4 show would be coming to an end after nine seasons. The couple and their two children, Arthur and Dorothy, bid farewell to the programme back in December before heading off on their Dare to Do It tour.
Luckily, it won't be long before the family are back on our screens in their new programme, Escape to the Chateau: Secret France. But when will the series land on our screens? Here's all we know…
What is Escape to the Chateau: Secret France about?
Dick and Angel's upcoming series, Escape to the Chateau: Secret France, will take viewers beyond the gates of the family's 19th century Château de la Motte-Husson as they embark on a journey around France.
The upcoming show, which will consist of four hour-long episodes, will follow the stars as they discover a side of France that few tourists see as they delve into the country's fascinating history.
When will Escape to the Chateau: Secret France be released?
While we don't know the exact date that Escape to the Chateau: Secret France will air on Channel 4, we do know that the new episodes will arrive sometime this year – and we think it could be fairly soon.

The Strawbridges began filming for the series back in January before heading off on their theatre and book signing tour of Australia and New Zealand. Sharing the news on Instagram, the show's team shared a snap of Dick and Angel looking radiant while standing in front of an idyllic backdrop. The caption read: "Escape to the Chateau: Secret France will be on your screens later this year – we can’t wait to share our discoveries with you!
Now that the family have completed their tour, we imagine that filming will resume if it hasn't wrapped already.
Given filming for episodes of season nine of Escape to the Chateau took place just a couple of months before they aired, we're hopeful that the new show will follow the same pattern. Now that the family have completed their tour, we imagine filming for the new documentary will resume if it hasn't wrapped already.
What's more, Dick and Angel announced the ninth season of their original show just a month before the first episode aired on Channel 4. So when the stars eventually reveal the release date for Secret France, it won't take long for the new episodes to arrive after that.
