Firefly Lane star Katherine Heigl leaves fans nervous with 'heartwrenching' comments

Part two of Firefly Lane's final season is coming to Netflix in April

Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke are set to return as Kate and Tully in the final seven episodes of Firefly Lane. Landing on Netflix on April 27 2023, fans will be able to binge part two of the second series in one go, and it's set to be emotional. 

Taking to Twitter on Monday, Katherine Heigl shared a trailer for the upcoming episodes, and she also revealed what fans can expect from the show's final season, teasing some "heartwrenching" moments.

"Well...the time has come" she tweeted. "The final 7 episodes of Firefly Lane are only a month from dropping on Netflix. I can't wait to share the end of Kate and Tully's story! It's beautiful, heartwrenching, hilarious and overflowing with love. This is not to be missed! #FireflyLane #April27."

Sparking a major reaction from fans, many were quick to comment on Katherine's revealing post. "Why do I have a feeling that it's going to be one bawler of an ending?" replied one. "I've been crying for some good hours now. This is gonna be the end of me," added another. Meanwhile a third penned: "OMG this second part of the season is gonna kill me! Bring it on!" 

As fans will remember, part one ended with Kate's breast cancer diagnosis, while Tully headed off to Antarctica for work. Leaving viewers on a major cliffhanger, the post-credits scene then jumped 10 years, showing Johnny on his wedding day. In an unexpected twist, Tully then stepped out in a white dress, telling him: "It's not like you can start without me anyway."

Part two will see Tully and Kate reunited as they deal with Kate's dignosis

So what's in store for part two? Throughout the trailer, Kate can be seen trying to reconnect with Tully, as she deals with her stage three cancer diagnosis. After receiving 18 missed calls from her childhood friend, it doesn't take long for Tully to arrive at Kate's house. "What took you so long?" Kate can be heard saying as Tully enters her bedroom. The trailer then draws to a close.
