9-1-1 fans already know to expect a mini-crossover of sorts in the latter half of the season, but now Julian Works, who plays Mateo Chavez in 9-1-1: Lone Star, has revealed when we can expect it - and it's during his standalone episode.
Natacha Karam previously revealed to HELLO! that "there's an amazing Mateo episode coming up about halfway [through the season]," and when asked by HELLO! about that episode, Julian had some very interesting words: "It's been the most fun episode for me to shoot so far… maybe there'll be some kind of crossover with the other 9-1-1, you never know!"
His comments on the red carpet for new Netflix comedy Unstable, starring Lone Star's Rob Lowe, come weeks after showrunner Tim Minear admitted there were some "nichey crossover things coming".
"There is some cross-pollination that may not have occurred to you. It’s not the most obvious way into a crossover, but there is cross-pollination, let’s go with that," he told TV Line.

It is unclear when in the season Mateo's episode will air, but it comes on the back of two standout episodes for Marjan Marwani, played by Natacha. Fans saw Marjan off into the sunset on Captain Owen Strand's motorbike after she handed in her notice. The character was missing from the show for several weeks, before she returned for an incredible episode that saw her fight for her own life after she was stalked and attacked by an abusive man who felt aggrieved that Marjan had helped his girlfriend escape.
There will be another big Marjan episode though, later in the season, but this one will have a much happier ending as it involves Marjan deciding "she is going to start dating again," Natacha told HELLO!
Romance has been in the air at Firehouse 126, with this season also seeing paramedic Nancy Gillan (Brianna Baker) and firefighter Chavez fall in love.
The unlikely pairing even surprised the actors initially, as Brianna said: "I was also glad because Julian is cool and he is a fun person to be around and act with so I was stoked."
"I was a little surprised," added Julian. "You never know when you're going to get a love interest and so you're always thankful, and when I found out it was Bri I was like, 'Game on!'"
