Chicago Fire has teased the emotional reunion between Matthew Casey and Sylvie Brett ahead of Jesse Spencer's return to the show.
In a new promo for the episode, flashes of scenes from the upcoming episode, which will air on Wednesday, April 5, are shown. In the first, Stella Kidd (Miranda Ray Mayo) walks into an office in Firehouse 51 to find a man facing away from her. "Are you looking for me?" she asks, prompting the figure to turn around, revealing himself as Casey. Smiling, he replies: "I sure am."
In another clip, Sylvie (Kara Killmer) walks into the room along with Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) and both are visibly surprised to see the firefighter.
The final flash shows Sylvie and Casey share a passionate embrace. Watch the video below to see the emotional moment.
The upcoming episode, which is titled 'Danger Is All Around', will mark Jesse's second return to the procedural series since his exit, first reprising his role in the season ten finale for his best friend Severide's (Taylor Kinney) wedding to Stella.
Where did we leave Casey and Brett?
In the season 11 premiere, Brett decided to call time on the relationship, ending things in a heartbreaking phone conversation. The couple's breakup came shortly after Matthew left the show midway through season ten in a storyline that saw Casey leave the Windy City to join the Portland Fire Department.

Why is Casey coming back?
While many may assume that Casey is returning amid Severide's absence following Taylor Kinney's temporary exit from the show, it looks like he's actually coming back to help another firefighter.
The synopsis for the upcoming episode reads: "A familiar face returns to Firehouse 51 to serve with Kidd on a special task force; with Tony close to breaking the CFD's perfect attendance record, Mouch and Capp work to keep him safe; old grudges resurface when Gallo reunites with a family member."
