Call the Midwife star Zephryn Taitte’s future on the hit BBC show has been left in doubt following the exit of his on-screen wife Lucille, played by Leonie Elliot. However, in a recent post, it appears that the star will indeed be returning for season 13 - and we couldn’t be happier!
Zephryn Taitte, who plays Cyril on the beloved BBC drama, is currently starring in Trouble in Bute Town at London’s Donmar Warehouse Theatre, and it was recently revealed that members of the cast went to see the play and support their co-star and friend before they returned to filming in May.
Sharing a snap of the group including Zephryn, Laura Main and Cliff Parisi, the caption read: "It was a case of drama Deja Vu when a London theatre audience sat down to watch the hit new play 'Trouble in Bute town' in London's Donmar Warehouse.
"Not only was Call the Midwife's own Zephryn Taitte (Cyril) playing a leading role, but many of our cast were in the audience!! They'd all come along to give their colleague some support - and this great photo was later posted on Twitter by Daniel Laurie (Reggie). The team were joined by Executive Producer Dame Pippa Harris (photo, left) and all report that Zeph was wonderful!"

Sharing news of their return to the show, the post continued: "It won't be long now till this lot are back doing their own work once again, as Series 13 is scheduled to begin shooting in May."
Following the news that Leonie had left the show, fans questioned whether Cyril would have to leave too. However, Leonie said that Cyril should stay in Poplar following Lucille's departure, telling RadioTimes.com: "I think there should always be a place for Cyril, Zephyrn Taitte is a wonderful actor."
