Angel and Dick Strawbridge have a global fanbase thanks to their nine-season run on Escape to the Chateau. Back in October 2022, viewers in the UK were treated to the final series, and now, after a long wait, fans in Australia will be able to watch it too! Taking to Instagram on Friday, the couple revealed that Escape to the Chateau's ninth season is officially coming to Australia, and they penned a sweet message to celebrate the news.
"We still feel like we are on a high from our trip down-under," the caption began, "And since so many of you ask when the new series will be available in Australia, we are delighted to announce it starts tonight @channel9. Enjoy the show and have a lovely weekend. Dick & Angel Xxx."

Sparking a major reaction from fans, many were quick to voice their excitement in the comments. "Thank you. I had no idea! Yay! Night sorted," wrote one. "This has just made my week," added another. Meanwhile, a third penned: "Ooh la la! So excited but a little sad it's the last season. Thanks for sharing your joyful and inspirational journey with us all."
Back in December, Dick and Angel told Lorraine Kelly what it was like saying goodbye to their beloved show after nine seasons. "We literally finished filming a week ago and it was really emotional. My mum kept crying all the time and it was really happy emotion," Angel explained.
"Arthur was sobbing. It was really beautiful, there's not many times where you get all your family and friends together. When it's a happy moment like that, boy it was a party."
While Escape to the Chateau has officially drawn to a close, fans around the world will be reunited with Dick and Angel in their upcoming TV series. Coming to screens in 2023, Escape to the Chateau: Secret France will follow the couple as they discover a side of France that few tourists see while delving into the country's fascinating history.
