James Corden has entered a difficult month, as April marks his very last few days as host of The Late Late Show on CBS.

The late night host announced last year that he would be stepping down from the role – he has helmed the late night show since 2015 – and now he only has 12 episodes left. The popular show has been a part of CBS' roster for nearly thirty years, its first host was Tom Snyder when it launched in 1995.

Now, as the star's final season comes to an end, new details have been revealed about what viewers can expect from its final episodes.

Speaking at the PaleyFest held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, James, along with his executive producers Ben Winston – who is also behind the new The Kardashians Hulu show – and Rob Crabbe, shared with attendees how they were making each episode count.

The last slate of shows will of course have one of its most beloved segments, "Carpool Karaoke," with a new star hopping on the car with James and singing along together each week.

There will also be a final "Crosswalk the Musical" segment, as well as a "Take a Break" segment with the Kardashian family, all of whom have been frequent guests of James.

Speaking at PaleyFest, James grew emotional, according to Variety, speaking of his time on the show. He said: "It's everything I ever wanted this show to be."

He added: "It feels incredibly strange and it's an unnatural feeling to walk away from something that you love so much. It's not right, because you're having such a great time. But at the same time, I'm so certain it's the right thing to do. I think it's important to go out in the manner that we came in."
