Blue Lights viewers saying the same thing about episode two of new police drama

BBC One's gripping new police drama, Blue Lights, continued on Monday night and viewers are saying the same thing about the series.

The six-parter, which is set in Northern Ireland, stars Sian Brooke as social-worker-turned-cop Grace Ellis, who, along with two other rookie police officers, is trying to navigate the unique pressures and challenges that come with policing in Belfast.

Taking to Twitter following the second instalment, viewers shared their praise for the drama. One person wrote: "Just catching up with #BlueLights on @BBCOne. It's not long since Happy Valley (& I still miss The Bill) but this is a great police drama. Fresh, gritty and gripping. Grand work @DecLawn, Adam Patterson and all others including the fabulous cast."

A second person tweeted: "Another cracking episode of #BlueLights," while another added: "Really enjoyed #BlueLights well worth watching - excellent cast and script."

Other fans, who have already binged-watched all six episodes on BBC iPlayer, couldn't help but comment on the entire series as a whole and have been overwhelmingly positive about the show.

Taking to Twitter, many viewers encouraged others to watch the programme. One person wrote: "Brilliant, just brilliant. If you haven't seen #BlueLights yet, get on it, sharpish. The entire cast and creative team (plus whoever at @BBCOne commissioned it) deserve every award going," while another added: "Just binge watched #BlueLights on #bbciplayer. Characterization…Writing…Acting…Up there with #HappyValley and #LineofDuty A must-watch."

A third person tweeted: "#BlueLights @BBC has got to be the best thing on TV right now. Impressive writing and acting."

Others called for the BBC to renew the drama for a second season, with one person writing: "Was a bit sceptical about another police drama but just binged #BlueLights and it's fantastic. Second series please @BBCOne," while another agreed, adding: "Absolutely superb series. Hope gonna be a second series. Fantastic writing and acting #BlueLights."
