Yellowstone fans have been very excited to hear that the confirmed spin-off starring Matthew McConaughey is indeed in the works - and a star from the original show has now opened up about what to expect.
John Lucas, who plays a younger version of Kevin Costner’s character John Dutton in the hit show, chatted about the spin-off to Entertainment Tonight, saying that the show’s co-creator Taylor Sheridan "has great ideas for how these characters merge together."
He said: "Part of it is the mystery of the mind of that creator and waiting for that to be unleashed in a way, right? So hell, yeah, bring it one" before adding: "The thing that moves me or surprises me most is that every time I think something is too crazy or too fantastical, it turns out it's based on a true story from Taylor's life or from something very close to the cowboys that all of this story is about."
© gettyThis isn’t the first spin-off of the hit franchise to be made and will follow other spin-offs including 1923 and 1883. The spin-off news comes shortly after the president of development and production at Paramount Network reassured attendees about Kevin’s future involvement on the original show, saying: "What I can say are our star, the face of our show and the executive producer, [we] are very confident he’s going to continue with our show."

A spokesperson for Paramount Network previously confirmed that Kevin had no plans to leave the show while discussing a planned spin-off with Matthew, saying: "Kevin… is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come.
