Élizabeth Bourgine is recognised for her role as Catherine Bordey in Death In Paradise, but long before she joined the show, the actress had already risen to fame in France. Credited with more than 60 roles in film and television, the mum-of-one has kept plenty of throwback photos from her early career – and on Monday she took a trip down memory lane by sharing one on Instagram.

Posting a photo from the '80s, Élizabeth unveiled the most beautiful portrait. Pictured wearing a little black dress and delicate hoop earrings, the TV star looked completely different as she rocked a pixie cut with Audrey Hepburn vibes.

The actress is credited with over 60 roles in film and television

The actress is no stranger to photoshoots, as prior to her acting debut, she worked as a dancer and model while attending the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts. We recently came across some incredible photos of Élizabeth that were taken in 1986, and based on her beautifully bold style, it's clear that the actress was destined to play Catherine.

After starring in student films between 1976 and 1977, Élizabeth would eventually land her breakthrough role as Gin in Nestor Burma, Shock Detective. While working on the show, she also met her future husband – writer and director, Jean-Luc Miesch. Together they share a son, Jules Miesch

Of course, her most iconic role came in 2011 after she joined Death In Paradise. Back in 2022, Élizabeth joined HELLO! for an exclusive chat about her role on the show, and she revealed how much fun she has playing Catherine. "I love Catherine because she's smart, she's a lady over 50 like you'd dream one to be!" explained Élizabeth.

"She is the mother, she's caring, but she's a sexy woman too, she loves life, she loves men, she loves caring for everybody who has problems… I love her very much."
