Heartstopper was the show that everyone was talking about back in 2022, with the first season of the Netflix show – chronicling the romance of teens Charlie and Nick – becoming a huge hit with viewers. While the fans have been patiently waiting for season two, there is a very exciting update about the series!
The show's screenwriter and creator Alice Oseman has confirmed that volume five of the hugely popular graphic novel series will be released on 9 November 2023 – and will be followed up by a sixth volume!
Speaking about what to expect from volume five, Alice said: "Heartstopper Volume 5 will follow the gang as they look towards the future. Charlie is starting to find confidence in who he is and what he wants but Nick is having a bit of a crisis with his Uni choices. Is he going to go far away or stay somewhere near to Charlie? We’ll see!
"When I started working on Volume five, I was struggling with where the story was going but I finally figured it out – I was trying to fit too much into one volume! I realised that I needed to properly explore how Nick and Charlie’s relationship progresses and give all the characters their moment to really shine."

They concluded: "So, that’s how we landed on Volume five AND a surprise Volume six – I really hope you’re excited to see a bit more from Heartstopper and I can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on Volume 5 in November!"
So when will we be getting season two? The show has concluded filming, and is thought to be coming out in 2023. Speaking about it at the BFI Future Film Festival, Alice said: "We’re kind of still in the editing process for season 2. Very exciting getting to see the episodes come together. Yeah, just really happy with how it’s looking."
