Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb couldn't hold back their curiosity during Wednesday's episode of the Today Show as they reported on the upcoming royal coronation.

The two NBC hosts dutifully inquired from their royal correspondent about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's potential invite to King Charles' coronation this May.

While they didn't get the answer that they were hoping for, their joke about the matter definitely served as the highlight of the segment. See what they had to say in the video below!

Buckingham Palace shared a stunning new portrait of the King and Queen Consort Camilla ahead of the big day on May 6, as invites arrive and the White House confirms that First Lady Dr. Jill Biden will be the United States' representative at the event.

That wasn't the day's biggest news for the team at Today, who received a coveted Peabody Award on the air for the show's decades of influence in morning news.

Savannah posted a photo in which she was flanked by her co-hosts, Hoda, Al Roker, and Carson Daly as they held the award.

Savannah and Hoda have reported on the royal family extensively

She captioned the post: "Thank you, Peabody, for honoring 71 years of TODAY." Fans were eager to congratulate them on their accomplishment and commented: "Well deserved!! You are an amazing group of people on the Today Show," and, "Congrats you guys are the best."

The NBC morning show was selected by the Peabody Board of Jurors for this year's honor, which "recognizes institutions and organizations, as well as series and programs, for their enduring body of work and their iconic impact on both the media landscape and the public imagination."

The statement from the Peabody executive director Jeffrey Jones continued: "For nearly three quarters of a century, Today has been a morning staple for millions of Americans and a consistent cultural touchstone for deeply moving human stories, groundbreaking news, and daily joy.

Today was honored with a Peabody Award

"We’re thrilled to recognize the program, not only for their decades of stellar reporting and storytelling, but also for their undeniable impact on culture and an informed public."
