The star of Netflix's popular show Sex/Life has spoken candidly about the second season, admitting that she felt that the follow-up instalment of the series was "gimmicky".
Speaking to the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Sarah Shahi, who plays Billie on the popular show, explained: "I definitely did not have the support that I did the first season. It became a much different thing for me, and I’m not afraid to say that. I struggled with the material. … I mean, I’m never going to work for Netflix again now after saying all this. I just can’t lie."
She added: "It was just challenging, but that’s part of what I do. I'm not always gonna get along or agree with a filmmaker. I’m not always gonna like what I have to do or say, but that’s my job, is to make it believable."
Sarah also explained that the six-episode season put limits on what they could include in the relatively short space of time, and defended the showrunner, Stacy Rukeyser.
"Stacy had such a hard job with only six episodes and telling all these fast-moving stories," she said. "That’s hard to do, and I get that, but yeah, I don’t know. Things just felt different for me this year, and I had a hard time because of that."

Despite Sarah's reservations, fans have been enjoying the new season, with one writing: "#SexLife season 2 was amazing! So many gems throughout the entire season. My only complaint is that I want more episodes." Another person added: "In the end we all will look back on our lives and say I wish I had or I’m glad I did. A line #sexlife season 2 did not disappoint."
