Married at First Sight Australia fans adore the show for its bingeable episodes and many dramatic moments – but the three experts are also a solid part of the reality show's brilliance.
As well as matching contestants together at the beginning, the experts pop up frequently throughout the show to offer their expert advice on marriage, conflicts in relationships, and intimacy to the couples as they navigate the experiment. John Aiken has been a solid staple on the show for a number of seasons – but did you know he has a famous wife? Get to know the star below.
Who is MAFS expert John Aiken married to?
Married at First Sight expert John is married to Kelly Swanson-Roe who TV fans Down Under may be familiar with thanks to her work as a news reporter based in New Zealand.
The pair have been together for over 25 years, welcoming two children in that time. John has previously opened up about his wife's strength and resilience after losing her first husband to a canoeing accident. "She is a very resilient woman and quite inspiring to be around, someone who I look up to and who I have a lot of respect for," he told the Australian news outlet, 9Honey.
Kelly and John often share sweet photos of their family on Instagram and, in January 2023, the MAFS expert shared a sweet snap of him and his wife posing for a selfie back in 2005 compared to present day. "2005 vs 2023 Stonyridge Waiheke island, NZ. Reliving wedding memories with this amazing woman," he wrote in the caption.
John is often thought of as the voice of reason on the show and often gives his blunt but fair views on the situation. Viewers might be surprised to learn that John was once a professional cricketer who played for the Auckland and Wellington teams in New Zealand.
While playing professionally, John also trained as a relationship expert and ran a private practice in New Zealand and in Australia. The expert's time on Married at First Sight is not his only experience in TV, as he's appeared on ABC documentary Making Couples Happy and Making Families Happy.
