Meet the cast of brand new comedy-drama Dreamland

Lily Allen leads the stars appearing in the Sky Atlantic series

Dreamland is a brand-new comedy-drama that looks like a brilliant watch. It tells the story of four sisters whose bond is put to the test when a series of events occur between all four of them. Based in the seaside town of Margate, the show is described as a dark comedic look at multi-generational dynamics between female family members.

Leading the cast of the new show, which lands on Sky Atlantic on Thursday evening, is singer Lily Allen who is making her debut in a regular TV series. Check out the video below to see the full trailer...

Lily Allen as Mel

One of the O'Sullivan sisters is Mel who is struggling with the fact that her glamorous life in Paris has come to an end. She ends up moving back home to Margate but is met with a number of bombshells from her three sisters. As mentioned, Lily is perhaps best known for her music career and she's had chart-topping success with hits like Smile and The Fear. But, she has since ventured into acting with Dreamland and her role in theatre production, 2:22: A Ghost Story.

Freema Agyeman as Trish

Trish is Mel's sister who is portrayed by Freema Agyeman. Trish is the eldest of the sisters and is expecting her third baby with her husband, Spence. But, Trish and Mel clash upon her return and emotions soon run high. Fans may recognise Freema from her previous roles in Doctor Who and New Amsterdam.

Gabby Best as Clare

Clare is another sister who works as a writer and often takes Mel's side when it comes to conflict. Clare is played Gabby Best who has described her character as a "human buckaroo loaded with baggage." The actress has previously appeared in the BBC comedy, There She Goes.

Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Leila

The youngest O'Sullivan sister is Leila who dislike confrontation and arguing with her siblings. Leila is played by Aimee-Ffion Edwards who recently appeared in Slow Horses on Apple TV+. She's also known for her parts in Peaky Blinders and Keeping Faith.

Kiell Smith-Bynoe as Spence

Spence is Trish's husband and not only are the couple expecting a new baby, but they're in the process of moving home, so there is a lot going on for the couple. Spence is played by Kiell Smith-Bynoe whom viewers will know from his role in other popular comedies like Ghosts and Stath Lets Flats, in which he plays fed up estate agent, Dean.

Frances Barber as Cheryl

Cheryl is the mother to the four O'Sullivan sisters. She and her mother, Maureen, raised the girls by themselves and is embarking on a new relationship. Frances Barber will be familiar to TV fans who have seen Whitstable Pearl, An Ideal Husband and The Escape.

Sheila Reid as Maureen

Maureen is the O'Sullivan matriarch who had a big part in raising Cheryl's four girls. Maureen is somewhat of a local celebrity in Margate and is known for keeping the town in check.
