Fans have been loving the first look at the show, with one writing: "This looks so amazing. Not only is it time that Ahsoka got her own series, but I love how much they're staying true to Rebels," while another person added: "I’m excited about the show! I’m someone who didn’t watch Rebels (I only saw a few episodes, I just couldn’t get into it like I did for CW) so I hope they don’t make this show inaccessible for people who haven’t seen Rebels."
The first season is also set to star Fargo actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, and The Society star Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren.
This isn't the first time that Rosario has portrayed the character, having made her debut in The Mandalorian. Chatting about how she was tipped to play the fan-favorite role, Rosario told Vanity Fair: "Actually it first came from fans online. Someone tweeted me and fan-cast me. I retweeted back and I was like, “Absolutely, yes please” and “#AhsokaLives.”
"And apparently that got the attention of someone who has been doing the Star Wars press for years. She forwarded it to Dave Filoni. That kind of started a whole thing. I was like, 'Oh my goodness, did I just get fan-cast in something?' And then nothing happened… But then I got a FaceTime call from Jon Favreau and Dave."

She added: "I remember when I put the contacts on, that was when it really solidified—the headpiece, the tails, the shape, the coloring, everything. Doing the face marking, doing my skin, wearing the costume, all of that was absolutely incredible. But I still kind of felt like I was in cosplay. The second the contacts went in, it was Ahsoka. I felt like I disappeared."
