ITV's new drama, Why Didn't They Ask Evans, continued with its second episode on Monday night and viewers are saying the same thing about it.
The three-parter, which is adapted from Agatha Christie's 1934 detective novel of the same name, is written and directed by Hugh Laurie and follows two childhood friends, Bobby (Will Poulter) and Frankie (Lucy Boynton), as they investigate the cryptic final words of a dying man: 'Why didn't they ask Evans?'.
Taking to Twitter, viewers praised the gripping adaptation. One person wrote: "Congrats to Hugh Laurie on #WhyDidntTheyAskEvans. Excellent adaptation of a classic Agatha," while another added: "#WhyDidntTheyAskEvans is SO good - one of the best Agatha Christie adaptations in recent years for sure."
A third person tweeted: "#WhyDidntTheyAskEvans is very good - great script and cast, excellent production values – very enjoyable entertainment."
Other fans called for Hugh to adapt more of Agatha Christie's novels, with one person writing: "Petition for @hughlaurie to do more Agatha Christie TV adaptions please because you can just feel his love and respect for the books. I am loving this show!!!" while another asked: "Can Hugh Laurie do some more Agatha Christie adaptations please?"

For those unfamiliar with the series, the full synopsis reads: "A man lies dying at the foot of a cliff, apparently the victim of an accidental fall; with his final breath, he utters the mysterious question of the title and promptly expires.
"Some people - perhaps most people - might shrug at the impenetrable oddness of the words and move on with their lives. But Bobby Jones and his childhood friend, Lady Frances 'Frankie' Derwent, are not most people.
"They resolve to honour the dead man by deciphering, and then answering, his final question. In so doing, they hit upon a dark conspiracy of deceit, betrayal and - perhaps unsurprisingly - murder."
