Jamie Dornan's hit show The Tourist makes huge announcement about season 2

Ready for The Tourist to be back on our screens? After a long wait, with the hit show premiering on BBC way back in January 2022, it has been confirmed that production has officially begun on season two – and we can't wait!

The series, which was originally set in Australia, is now based in Dublin, with both Jamie Dornan and Danielle Macdonald returning to the show alongside The Fall star Conor MacNeil, The Northman's Olwen Fouéré and Outlander star Diarmaid Murtagh. Season one's villain Ethan Krum, played by Ethan Krum, will also return for the new instalment.

So what can we expect from season two? The synopsis reads: "After their adventure in the Australian Outback… Elliot and Helen… travel to Ireland together.

"In an attempt to rediscover Elliot’s roots following his memory loss, they’re dragged into the dangerous whirlwind of his past life and are confronted by friends and foes both old and new, including Niamh Cassidy and the McDonnell family – Donal, Orla, Fergal and Frank. Detective Ruairi Slater becomes embroiled in the crossfire between the McDonnells and the Cassidys as the secrets of the family rivalry unravel."

Speaking about the show, writers Harry and Jack Williams said: "We’re so excited to take Elliot and Helen to Ireland, where they will meet a host of dark and off beat new characters. With a stellar cast to match, we can’t wait for it all to be brought to life."
