A fellow Yellowstone star may have just added fuel to the fire concerning rumors that Kevin Costner, the show's lead, is leaving the Paramount+ show.

Rumors of his departure have been mounting for weeks, amid what appears to be a tumultuous time on set. Production has stalled on the second part of the fifth season, which is supposed to be released in the summer, and much of the cast's sudden absence from a PaleyFest LA appearance early in April.

While there has been no conclusive answer to whether fans will have to say goodbye to the actor's character, John Dutton, his co-star may have given a not so promising hint.

Speaking with the Daily Mail about the ongoing rumors, Dawn Olivieri, who played Claire Dutton on spinoff 1883 – starring Faith Hill and Tim McGraw – gave an ominous statement.

"Sometimes we have to own the fact that nothing is forever," she warned, adding: "And impermanence is the single thing we can count on, and that life is like that."

Reports have cited a conflict between Kevin and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan as the root of the departure rumors, though a Paramount spokesperson told The Post in February: "We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone, and we hope that's the case for a long time to come."

Kevin has yet to address any Yellowstone news

Dawn's rare comment comes not only after much of the Yellowstone cast suddenly dropped out of their PaleyFest LA appearance – press was only informed of their absence less than an hour before the red carpet – but as it is revealed that the second part of season two isn't even in the works yet, despite its alleged summer release date.

"We haven't started [filming], no. We know he is writing and we're looking forward to getting back," said actress Wendy Moniz when she stepped in to replace her absent castmates at PaleyFest.

What is in the works however is a spinoff starring none other than Matthew McConaughey. Currently, the Yellowstone franchise includes 1883, 1923 and 6666, the latter of which has yet to be released.

Taylor and ViacomCBS CEO Chris McCarthy confirmed the news to Hollywood Reporter, and that the spin-off is just one of ten projects that are in the works as part of the Yellowstone world.
