Sam Heughan has revealed some very exciting news for fans excited about Outlander season seven.
The actor who has played hunky Scot Jamie Fraser since the show's 2014 premiere, took to Instagram on Thursday evening to share a post from the official account of the popular Starz show.
This post revealed that the first half of the seventh and final season will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film and Television Festival in June.
Fans were already aware that Outlander season seven, part one, is due to be broadcast on June 16, but this latest news comes as exciting confirmation that the first episode will be celebrated with a special event.

Following the premiere screening, a Q&A conversation with Heughan and his Outlander costars Caitriona Balfe, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin is planned at the festival. Here's hoping it will be streamed so that all devotees can watch!
Also announced for Tribeca's TV festival were premieres for The Walking Dead spinoff show The Walking Dead: Dead City, Apple TV+ NBA focused Swagger, and Amazon Prime's adaptation of the Spotify series The Horror of Dolores Roach.
Earlier this year, when news broke that fans currently suffering from the so-called 'Droughtlander' would have to wait a little longer before the show completely wraps up (part two of the hit series' seventh season will be out in 2024) opinions were divided on the season's division.
"Why such a long gap? […] Even if you had a two-month break and start again in Nov / Dec also when in 2024? Sorry not being ungrateful, it's just we seem to wait longer and longer when other shows are quicker," wrote one member of the show's passionate fanbase on Twitter.

Another person added: "YAY on the start, but BOOO having to wait until 'sometime' in 2024, what?? This drives me crazy." A third person penned: "That's so cruel! Why do you split the season! OMG."
But others were more enthusiastic, with one writing: "Thank you!! Now we get to see Outlander in 2023, 2024 and 2025!! I will savor every moment!!"
