ITV's new medical drama, Malpractice, premiered on Sunday night and viewers are divided over the series.
The five-parter, which is written by former NHS doctor Grace Ofori-Attah, follows Dr Lucinda Edwards (Niamh Algar), a dedicated doctor whose life is derailed when her shift ends in the death of an opioid overdose victim. Despite the support of her medical supervisor, Edith's grieving father demands an inquiry into Lucinda's actions on the night the patient died.
Taking to Twitter, some viewers couldn't help but notice inaccuracies in the new drama. One person wrote: "#Malpractice lives up to its name with all the medical inaccuracies they've managed to squeeze into the first part," while another added: "I do like this new #Malpractice show on ITV but the amount of inaccuracies is driving me mental."
A third person tweeted: "The only thing that is surprisingly accurately portrayed in this less than factual and exaggerated series, is how underfunded and overworked the health service is. In the real world, Lucinda wouldn't even have had time for a smoke break let alone go to the loo."

Many viewers, however, were glued to the screen and also took to social media to praise the gripping first episode. One person wrote: "Watched the first episode of #Malpractice… wow. [My] heart was in my mouth through most of it!!! @PhilipBarantini has done it again. Absolutely brilliant, going to have to binge the whole lot now!!"
A second fan tweeted: "First episode of #Malpractice done! Brilliantly directed by @PhilipBarantini, really captured the stress and anxiety of working as a nurse. I can't imagine what it must be like! @dedwardscasting doing a top job with casting too! Can't wait to see who else enters play," while a third added: "#Malpractice you got me hooked. It's like Line of Duty meets casualty."
Other viewers couldn't help but binge-watch all five episodes, and one person applauded the entire series as a whole, writing: "Just finished #Malpractice on ITV and it was honestly such a good show. There were parts that were so tense but also emotional at the same time."
